PRESS RELEASE - 25th November 2009
The award winning B+B Belgravia Ltd has announced its plans to add 8 small studios and a Garden Suite to their existing 4* boutique premises in Ebury Street.
Since it opened in 2004 the concept has been so successful that additional space was acquired at 82 Ebury Street, and with the support of The Grosvenor Estate a full refurbishment program commenced earlier this year. The interiors at #82 will be similar to that of the original B+B, but the rooms will benefit from the addition of a compact kitchenette containing fridge, microwave, kettle, cutlery, crockery and some basic supplies. Breakfast will be included in the form of a breakfast box which will be prepared and placed in the fridge. Breakfast boxes will be available to pre-order as part of the booking process.
This is in contrast to the full English available in the original B+B. "We were keen to offer our customers a choice between the existing product, which provides plenty of opportunity to interact with other guests, and a quieter more discreet option" says Penny Brown, Managing Director. The only public space will be a sun terrace at the rear of the building for guests to enjoy in the warmer months!
The bedrooms will be equipped similarly to the B+B with free Wi-Fi, 12-channel TV, direct dial phones including free local calls. All those little extras will also be available such as irons & boards, alarm clocks, adaptors, laptop leads and hairdryers.
This expansion enables B+B Belgravia to offer their clientele a more comprehensive choice: either the original B+B with its pleasant guest lounge, airy breakfast room and secluded rear garden or B+B @ #82 - a private self contained London pied-a-terre. Rates for the new rooms will start from £120 per room per night inclusive.
One of B+B's regular corporate customers has already made a group booking for International Petroleum week in February 2010: "You have really caught on to what is required in London with regard to accommodation; this is a fantastic idea to go the self-catering route! It is what people really want now if they are staying in the same place for longer than one or two nights. Well done to introduce this into your already fantastic B&B..... wonderful!" Patsy Shannon, Director - Mocoh S.A., Switzerland.
Studios @ #82 will open in January 2010.
PRESS RELEASE - 7th December 2006
Two years of operating and two awards! This "rooms based – design led" boutique B+B company, has scooped gold for the second year running, winning "Bed and Breakfast of the Year" at The Eurostar Visit London Awards 2006 - a celebration of the very best of London's tourism and leisure industry."
B+B Belgravia was again short-listed under the category of best B & B in London, which was one of 21 awards on the night. The brainchild of a group of like-minded professional hoteliers and interior designers, this team has certainly rewritten the rules for a new style of Bed and Breakfast for the 21st century. Owner / Director, Penny Brown collected the prize on behalf of her team.
"The high-level criteria and thorough judging this year offered a fantastic opportunity and challenge for us to see if we could do it again! It is important for us as operators in the hospitality industry to sustain our levels of customer service, staff retention and care for the environment, whilst still offering sophisticated and stylish accommodation at affordable rates. Our guest feedback is very positive and is a constant reminder that you are only as good as your last breakfast! Twelve percent of our occupancy is repeat business and word-of-mouth almost out-weighs our sales & marketing activities."
It is absolutely amazing to win this prestigious award two years in a row; but it means that next year will bring even tougher competition!
Having created a blue print, our development plans for The B+B Collection are coming to fruition. Our expansion strategy includes a property on the south coast due to open in summer 2007 and a second property in London to be announced shortly".
"We set out to revamp the Bed and Breakfast concept by offering a design led, affordable and acceptable alternative in London, accommodating the discerning business traveller and the cost conscious tourist alike. Design, service, quality and comfort are all equal in our philosophy, and it's paid off."
PRESS RELEASE - 30th November 2005
Just one year after the opening B+B Belgravia, the contemporarily designed 17 bedroom townhouse B&B in Ebury Street, has won a top award – the Best B & B in London. Receiving Gold at the Eurostar Visit London Awards, held at Old Billingsgate Market last night (Tuesday 29th November) this award "recognises excellence in our world class city" according to the organiser's.
B+B Belgravia was short-listed under the category of best B&B in London which was one of 16 awards on the night. The independent judging panel heaped praise on the owners, Penny Brown, Lynne Reid and Colette Huck who collected the accolade on behalf of their team.
"This is a wonderful honour and a great reward for all the hard work in making our dreams a reality. We believed from the outset that there is a strong demand for contemporary and stylish accommodation - we see it everywhere in the great cities of the world. However, the big difference with B+B Belgravia is that we have provided this quality at real value for money. We have proven that we can break the mould and intend to develop this brand into the B+B Collection. A second property in London is already on the cards and then our strategy will be to enter key locations in the UK and overseas in the next few years".
"Design, service, quality and comfort are all equal in our philosophy and it's paid off. We have clients who return every time they come to London – and that was exactly what we wanted to achieve".
About The B+B Collection - The B+B Collection was conceived after the success of the award-winning pilot project, B+B Belgravia, which opened in London in 2004. The B+B Collection was established in 2005. There are currently three operational properties within the portfolio: B+B Belgravia & Studios@82, B+B Weymouth which opened in 2008 and the newest addition, B+B Edinburgh which opened 1st August 2011.
All the B+Bs are historic listed buildings with beautifully designed contemporary interiors; more suitable sites are being sought. The primary objective is to deliver a modern, well-designed product that "breaks the mould," and provides an innovative and stylish alternative to the outdated bed and breakfasts and a viable and affordable option to the predictable 4* chain hotel. Design, service, quality and comfort are all part of the philosophy.
